The National Electronic Fund Transfer System (NEFT) is introduced for retail customer transactions which works similar to RTGS. However here the funds are transferred in eleven batches on weekdays and in five batches on Saturdays. NEFT facilitate the funds transfer across the country over participating Banks and Branches. At present more than 103 Banks and more than 82338 Branches are participating under NEFT system.

Using NEFT, Customers of the Bank can transfer funds of any amount to the beneficiary’s account in another Bank. The fund transfer request under NEFT are allowed between 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on all Working Days.

For sending the funds through the NEFT the customer has to fill the Fund Transfer Instruction Form (available at branch) with the necessary details, such as Name of the beneficiary, Name of the Bank and Branch, Type of Account, A/c No. and IFSC Code of the beneficiary’s Bank/Branch. For receiving the funds the customer needs to inform the IFSC Code of his concerned branch, his Bank and Branch name, Type of Account and Account Number to the remitter of the funds. The remitter will approach his banker (NEFT member) with above details to remit the funds to the customers account.
